Report: An Investigation into Water Billing, Metering and Customer Service

The Toronto Office of the Ombudsman has received ongoing complaints from residents about excessive bills for sudden, inexplicable water consumption.

News Release: Water Works: An Investigation into Water Billing, Metering and Customer Service

In a report released today, the City of Toronto's Ombudsman says Toronto's system for metering, recording and billing for water usage generally works well. "But when serious billing problems do occur," says Fiona Crean "they become impossible to solve."
